Albam is a contemporary British label who create practical, high-quality menswear clothing and accessories. Working alongside some of the finest craftsmen and factories in the UK and Europe, Albam produces 4 seasonal collections each year.
History of Albam
Founded in 2006 by Alastair Rae and James Shaw, Albam has quickly grown into a cult British menswear brand, packed with wardrobe staples as well as seasonal offerings. The pair met whilst studying in Manchester, with Albam ultimately being thought up over a few pints in the pub.
Having spent a number of years working in operations for a leisure company, Alistair teamed up with longtime friend James to create a menswear label that could produce what they thought was missing from the market. Stripped back, utilitarian designs that have been given a modern update. Due to James’ time spent working at both denim and sports labels, it seemed to be a perfect match that could cover all aspects of starting a business.
Albam spread the manufacturing of their clothes across a mix of factories in Nottingham and Scotland, a well as Portugal and since its inception over 10 years ago has grown to produce a wider array of products that include accessories such as socks and luggage. They recently teamed up with fellow Made in England brand Aiguille on a range of cross body/ bum bags. Currently boasting three London stores in Soho, Spitalfields and Islington Albam are also stocked in a selection of international retailers.
