❤️ 2017 😍 Which Was Your Fave? 💬

A post shared by SupStickers (@supstickers) on

When did you first hear about Supreme and what first got you interested in the brand?

Stickers on a local skaters deck were the first thing I ever saw of Supreme and I was hunting since then! I'd say that was in 2008/9! I was interested in the collaborations and allure of something that was seemingly very hard to obtain in the UK at the time!

Did you consciously start collecting Supreme or did you just find yourself with a large amount of stuff?

I'd say I've consciously aimed to collect the stickers… as for “stuff" its one of those things, it amounts and amounts and then you realise how much of the brands you own suddenly! Weekly impulse buys don’t help! And the structure of Supreme items means some of them become of use daily so your less aware they are supreme maybe?

What is it about the brand you like so much?

I like that the brand caters to everyone, from your executive businessman to the middle ground fashion conscious individuals and the underground hoarders/collectors that are deep into the brand! Oh and that skater kid we all seem to have been at one point, and the fact they know skaters rant always on a board!

If you like a certain product do you sometimes buy multiple colour variations?

Oh for sure, or general multiples of the item in my favourite colour…one to rock one to stock!

What lengths have you gone to acquire a certain product from Supreme?

Driving over half the country? Ordering things from Japan and America frequently! Paying proxy services etc!

How have you sourced the majority of your collection?

Buying it, either directly from supreme or on the resale market… the majority of my collection of stickers id say would come from the resale market as many where made before I collected or collected seriously… but for the majority of my clothing and items it's from Supreme direct (manual gang)!

What are some favourite picks from your collection?

Signed Sean Cliver griffin deck, sent directly from the man himself! Big props. All of my Cliver stickers, plus Kermit and hologram box logo sets! Recently I'd say it would be the scarface lamp and doormat!

What are your thoughts on "Instagram collectors" who seem to flip their grails a week later?

Isn’t that what collectors and art dealers do in general?! Search, acquire, move the goal posts and repeat? I think someones grail that then become a bargaining factor for another “grail” was never a grail… my grails are obtained and never leave me!

If you could go back in time to any era of Supreme in the past 23 years what would you pick up to add to your collection?

I'd go right back to supreme 2008 and get as many Sean Cliver decks and stickers and tees as I could! Failing that any of the 90s years!

What do you think of my decision to exhibit and sell off a large portion of my personal collection on The Idle Man?

Think its sick! We have seen the massive influx of fans to Supreme in the last 3 years, most of this audience is young and might not have seen / have the chance to see some of your collection… so I think its massive positive! The selling part is the hard pill to swallow as it sees one of the biggest collections being down scaled and its on my home soil! With that being said if you’ve enjoyed the items and want others to do so, you’ve gone about it the right way! I wish you all the luck in 2018!

Ross Wilson’s Supreme Archive will be available to purchase exclusively on The Idle Man from Thursday 1st February 2018. To access the sale please register your interest at the link below.

An exhibition of collection highlights will be open for public viewing at The Idle Man, 97 Leather Lane, London EC1N 7TS on Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd February. Admission is free and will be open from 11am - 7pm.
